TERMS & CONDITIONS – CORREA KITCHEN HIRE
The following terms and conditions apply to hire of Correa Kitchen at G3/21 Bangs St, Prahran.
Use of the Venue
Induction: All hirers are required to complete an in-person induction before using the venue. One person who has completed this induction must be onsite at all times during booking times.
Enjoyment and Respect: The hirer must keep noise levels below 45db at all times and must not cause nuisance or offense to local residents or community.
Hire Times: The hirer must only use the venue within their allocated booking time. The hirer must not enter or use the venue outside business hours of 8am–8pm.
Appearance and Cleanliness: The hirer is expected to keep the venue clean and tidy at all times. Before the event concludes, the hirer must clean and wipe down all table tops, benches, oven, dishwasher, floors and any other equipment used. Rubbish and waste must be removed and placed in appropriate bins. Excessive rubbish must be disposed of by the hirer. The venue is to be left in the same condition it was upon arrival.
Bond: The hirer is liable for any additional cleaning costs if the kitchen is left in an unclean state, as well as for any damage to the venue or equipment. These costs will be taken from the bond payment.
Set Up and Pack Up: The hirer is responsible for setting up the venue, including equipment, and returning items to their original location within the booking time. All equipment and furniture must be moved using safe manual handling methods.
Additional Furniture and Decorations: Additional furniture and/or decorations, other than small items such as linen and stationery, cannot be brought into the venue without prior consent from Cultivating Community.
Removal of Items: Anything brought into the venue by the hirer must be removed within the hire period. The venue must not be used for storage, and Cultivating Community takes no responsibility for items left behind.
Decorations: Cultivating Community encourages low-waste events. Confetti, glitter, paint and balloons are prohibited from use in the venue.
Flammable Substances and Poisons: These are prohibited unless written consent is given by Cultivating Community prior to hire.
Equipment, Crockery and Cutlery: General equipment, cutlery and crockery are provided in general hire. Additional items such as blenders, rice cookers, etc. can be made available upon request. Any cost from damaged or stolen equipment will be taken from the hirer’s bond payment.
Storage: No onsite storage is available unless arranged with Cultivating Community prior to hire of the kitchen.
Gambling and Illegal Activity: No gambling or illegal activity is allowed. Illegal activity includes breaches of food-related legislation. The hirer must obtain prior approval from the Stonnington City Council for sale of food products or preparation of food products for sale.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside or immediately outside the venue.
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Emergencies: The hirer must use the venue safely and keep all guests safe. The hirer is liable for all costs associated with emergency services call outs resulting from their use of the venue.
No Interference: The hirer must not interfere with or alter any electrical installations, lighting, equipment, or other technical instruments.
No Transfer: The booking cannot be transferred or assigned to another party.
Incident Reporting: The hirer must promptly report any complaints, incidents, or damage to Cultivating Community.
Publicity and Display of Material: Any material displayed at the venue must be approved by Cultivating Community prior to display. Cultivating Community reserves the right to reject or cancel any hire requests that do not align with their values or ethical framework.
Promotion and Costs: Correa Kitchen is not responsible for promoting the hirer’s use of the venue or liable for any associated costs.
Access, Security, and Emergencies
Parking: No parking is available at Correa Kitchen. Timed parking is available in surrounding streets and there is a public car park available on King Street.
Access: Cultivating Community will provide an access key as appropriate. If the key is not returned within 48 hours, a replacement fee of $200 per unit applies.
Securing the Venue: All doors at Correa Kitchen are to be locked upon departure and all windows closed. Failure to secure the venue upon departure will result in a $1000 fine.
Emergencies: The hirer must be aware of all emergency procedures and ensure all emergency exits are clear and unobstructed.
Booking Procedure, Billing, and Terms of Payment
Booking: Bookings are completed via the Cultivating Community online platform. Any booking is not confirmed until the hirer has received and accepted a quote and terms of hire.
Payment: Full payment is required two weeks before the initial booking.
Licensing and Insurance
Alcohol Policy: Correa Kitchen is NOT a licensed venue. No persons shall be served or allowed to consume alcohol within the venue. Additionally, no alcohol is to be consumed outside the premises. The hirer is responsible for obtaining an event license if they wish to provide alcohol at their event and must provide written confirmation to Cultivating Community.
Food Handling and Licenses: If the hirer is cooking or preparing food for sale, they must have a food license and relevant permits from Stonnington City Council. This must be provided to Cultivating Community prior to the first booking.
