A Community based bakery supporting work pathways and social connections.
High Rise Baking is currently only available on Fridays at the Highett Community Garden, North Richmond. We welcome anyone from the community to join from 10am until lunchtime.
In Autumn 2024 High Rise Baking will become a work pathway program supporting people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing into Community Baking as well as a program supporting ESG and Social Connection.
This will be available for community at North Richmond, Fitzroy and our new kitchen in Prahran.

The online store is open from Wednesdays at 5pm, till Mondays at 12pm. Please place your order before 12pm Monday for Wednesday afternoon pick up.
Bread, fire and community..
High Rise Community Bakery is a baking group and social enterprise facilitated by Cultivating Community. Each week, community members come together in the name of fire, bread and community! Together people bake affordable, nutritious and delicious bread whilst building connection and community and in 2024 supporting a work pathway program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing and CALD groups.
Our team, work alongside volunteers to mix, knead and shape our dough before it is baked in our garden based wood fired ovens located in North Richmond, Fitzroy and our new Kitchen in Prahran.
Through these actions, we aim to provide affordable and nutritious bread to the community and foster a space for knowledge sharing. All money raised from High Rise bread sales goes back into the community bakery - paying for equipment and ingredients and supporting the progam to reach more people.
